Red 1969 Olivetti Valentine mechanical vintage design typewriter in showroom condition. In excellent working order; QWERTY layout; tabulator; ribbon colour selector; comes with the original red box/sleeve with the original rubber tabs.
The Valentine typewriter was launched on 14 February 1969, explains the name ‘Valentine’. It was designed by the late Italian architect and designer, Ettore Sottsass, with the British designer, Perry Ellis, for the Italian firm, Olivetti. The Valentine was mostly sold in red possibly because of the launch date, but there were also other colours available. The Valentine, while basically a Lettera 32 with a glossy plastic design body, was one of the most successful designed ever made by Olivetti and went on to become a 20th century design icon.
With regard to the rude treatment of packages by shipping companies these days, I prefer a buyer who collects the typewriter in person in Amsterdam.
