Vintage Domingo Punter Plate, Spanish Pottery, Fish and Queen, Hand Painted Ceramic Wall plate. Made in Spain in the 1970s.
Domingo Punter and his children have a background of five generations of ceramic makers from Teruel (Aragón), in the northern part of Spain.
This is a very unique type of ceramic. This ceramic is very dense, so the pieces are surprisingly heavy. The clay in this part of Spain is very dark red, which gives this craftsmanship a very unique look.
What they do is reproduce the Spanish Romantic style ceramic from the XIV century. As you can see, the design is primitive and they only use black, white and green glaze, these being the colors available during the historical period.
In really good condition no cracks or chips, there are a couple of glaze imperfections.
