A complete copper alloy early medieval strap end dating from AD 750-950, class A type 1. The strap end is oval shaped with convex sides, narrowing to the zoomorphic terminal. It has a split attachment end, which is shaped along the edge with two rounded semi circular projections. In the centre of these projections are two circular perforations for the now missing rivets. Below this
the strap end is decorated with niello inlay in a Trewhiddle style.
