A collection of three blue and white chargers.
Kangxi period (1662-1722).
Decorated with a lotus flower in the centre surrounded by a ruyi-border and petal shaped panels with different flowers and flower branches, the reverse decorated with two peach branches, two chargers marked with the artemisia leaf, one charger marked with a lozenge within a double circle. The lozenge marked charger is equipped with an old metal wall hanger.
Diameter 38.5 cm.

An identical charger is in the British Museum collection (museum number: Franks.194).
Another example can be found in the Rijksmuseum collection (Inv. No: AK-RBK-14751B), illustrated in Chinese Ceramics in the Collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (Christiaan J.A. Jörg, 1997).
Condition:
One of the chargers with a glaze flake in the middle of the well, furthermore with a chip and glaze loss to the rim.
The other charger with a chip to the rim, a chip to the footrim and another large piece of the footrim chipped.
The lozenge marked charger has a chip with an associated hairline of ca. 6.5 cm, another chip to the edge and some edge fritting, four pieces of glaze loss to the well which is probably a kiln flaw.
