Biografie:
Yves Lohe
Born in 1947 - France
From a young age, Yves Lohe's dreamer and lonely-hearted nature led him to grow up close to nature. As a young man, he found refuge in poetry and even wrote plays for the theater. He dreamed that one day he would be a great writer! He followed the typical training by studying law, which he interrupted to diverge into teaching. Soon, he realized that only sculpture would help him rediscover the emotions of his childhood. In 1972, he gained work experience with Abel Bataillard, the famous Master Ironworker of Pigalle.
In 1977, he resigned from teaching and devoted himself to iron sculpture, the material from which he made his first work. He debuted in the Paris exhibitions entitled "Independent French Artists". Under the title of "iron hands", he made about 80 sculptures of hands, hand strikes and fists that represented the cries of his thirst for life. In 1979, Lohe built a bronze workshop and left his iron sculpture behind. He presented his works through national and international exhibitions that allowed him to exhibit on the most promising podiums in Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, etc. Later came his "thin" figures, the expression of the body, the study of forms and attitudes that were his main sources of inspiration, covering various themes such as dance, music and everyday folk in the street. Little by little, the forms of the sculpture became softer. Lohe created monumental sculptures for towns and villages in the North and East of France (the violinist in Feron 59610)
In 1991, his meeting with Werner Manesse, Master Glassmaker, gave him the opportunity to realize another dream:
working glass from its transparency to its color. Werner taught him the alphabet of glass, a vocabulary that allowed him to add the magic touch of light to form and material, and thus to create his own poetry.
Yves Lohe created his own glassworks.
