In 1978, at Photokina, the Cosina 35 FR was the most advanced model in Cosina's 35mm compact camera range. Compared to earlier models, the materials are more modern. An electronic flash is integrated into the camera. It is powered by two 1.5-volt batteries and has a guide number of 16.
This is an automatic camera with aperture priority (meaning you choose the aperture and the camera automatically adjusts the shutter speed based on the exposure measurement). The shutter operates automatically from 1/64 to 1/360 of a second. It is also a rangefinder camera. Its Cosinon 2.7/38 mm lens has five elements.
In the viewfinder, a needle indicates the aperture, as well as the areas of overexposure and underexposure.
