Tascam PE-40 + Tascam MX-80

These are pretty damned fantastic. However, with the arrival of a Tascam Portastudio 246 (great brand, Tascam – and I hate brands) they're not getting enough use here. 
Add a decent mic, some cables and a recorder/laptop (I strongly advise you to get a 4-track cassette recorder, they are the best fun money can buy) and you've got yourself a pretty great homestudio! You'll impress your friends and feel good about yourself everyday. Except on some days. It won't fix everything, everybody hurts, etc. But is sure helps.
Both work perfectly, look – apart from the usual signs of rack usage – approaching perfectionish too, and look! None of those candy-coloured knobs missing. Remember, those are not edible. Get yourself oh I don't know about 40 bags of Haribo with the money you save buying them both:

Together 550,- Will be professional-like packed and guaranteed to arrive in one piece (or two), unless the postwoman accidentally drops them from a 10 storey flat, but then there's always the insurance we paid a little extra for – it goes a long way.
