Magnat MA400 buizen versterker

Integrated amplifier with tube preamplifier and a great-sounding transistor power amplifier.
The MA 400´s integrated phono preamplifier has been constructed with very low-noise operational amplifiers, hand-chosen components guarantee a deviation from the RIAA equalisation curve of less than 0.3 dB. It is also equipped with an elaborate subsonic filter with an 18 dB/octave slope and 16 Hz cut-off frequency. The preamplifier´s selected double triode tube (Type ECC88) is burned in for 60 hours before it is fitted.

With a “genuine” continuous performance of 40 watts per channel and the delivery of a total performance over 150 watts for short periods, this integrated amplifier is also suitable for demanding loudspeakers. Elaborate and separately stabilised supply voltages as well as generously dimensioned buffer capacitors (2 x 10,000μF for the power amplifier) ensure dynamics, low noise levels and outstanding channel separation for the individual amplifier sections.

CD player with low-vibration drive and excellent digital-analogue converter.
A CD drive with Sanyo laser unit has been used to ensure reliable operation and the accurate reading of digital information. The conversion of the digital data that is so crucial to the sound is then carried out by the high-quality PCM 1796 24-bit digital-to-analogue converter by Burr Brown. This model is characterised by a very high dynamic range and excellent distortion values.

The channel-separated analogue filter stage and output stage have been equipped with low-noise operational amplifiers and are operated with elaborately stabilised supply voltages. All the important circuits have been accommodated on a single circuit-board and thus ensure a high degree of operational reliability and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

Audiophile components and innovative technology have been used exclusively for the 2-way bass reflex configuration in the Quantum 1000 S series to ensure an optimum sound performance. The 170 mm bass-midrange driver, which is also featured in the Quantum 1009 S floorstanding speaker, is used in combination with the 30 mm high-end tweeter with its lightweight semi-crystalline polymer cone to guarantee maximum precision and uncompromising neutrality.
The sturdy MDF housing, which is available in a high-gloss black or white finish, has been provided with a double-walled side panel configuration to ensure resonance is kept to an absolute minimum. The level of workmanship and quality of material that have gone into both the housing and the internal components are of a premium level.
