M.G. Sports Car was published by Dent in 1972) is the only definitive analysis of the world's best-known sports car. He tells of the marque with humble origins which seduced the world into its romance with the open two-seater—an alternative to the 'tin box' for
Everyman. For fifty years the M.G. has been a consistent race winner, if only in its class, and of course, there was a time when it was a major world speed record breaker.

McComb tells all with an authentic intimacy, having worked for the company for ten years and spent many more researching the subject further. We read of the founder's life, the first M.G., the great racing and record breaking years pre-war, the business and management life, all the production cars and the famous 'Abingdon atmosphere'. The tale is taken to the present day when the MGB and the Midget continue to be the North America's best loved European sports cars.
All is presented in a wealth of detail, with comment which is sometimes irreverent, often outspoken but always substantiated. 200 photographs supplement this account and appendices provide fascinating technical data, production figures and major M.G. successes in competition.
