"Jail keys made here" Photographs by Lee Boltin (1959)

Boltin (1917-1991) was best known for his work documenting primitive, pre-columbian and ancient art. But in this collection (and in a similar one, ("closed on account of death", published in 1977) he focuses on building, street and window signs, some with amusing juxtapositions of meaning, other downright bizarre.
