Author, entrepreneur, artist, art educator and mentor, and award winning advertising professional.

She earned her Graphics Communications degree with distinctions from Monash University formally Chisholm Institute of Technology, and her Fine Arts degree with distinctions focusing on painting and drawing from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. With her formal education and natural talent, she went on to build successful careers in advertising and fine art.

As an advertising professional, Jacqueline won several international advertising awards as well as many Melbourne Art Directors Awards for illustration and art direction for her work with Club Med and Myers. Her creative advertising work has been featured in the design magazine German Lurzers Archive, CA Communciations and Graphis Annual.

Jacqueline’s impressive advertising client list includes Club Med, Myer, Snapple, Berlei Bras, Heineken, Westfield Fashion, Clairol Hair Colour, Cadbury, Singapore Tourist Promotion Board, Wendy’s Ice creams, Seagram’s Distillery, Singapore Airlines, Nippon Paint, Hong Kong Bank, Tang’s Department Store, Ford, and Telstra.

Practicing what she preaches, Jacqueline walked away from a successful corporate career and city lifestyle to become a full-time artist. Raising two children in a small town as a single mother, she couldn’t be happier with the results of her leap of faith.

Jacqueline created and operated Salon Rouge Gallery in the Barossa Valley for seven years. Salon Rouge Gallery continues as a creative hub and studio for national and international students. She is also the creator of How to Paint Blooms, a global online 52-week art lesson program, the Blooms Teachers Training Program, and the highly successful Jacqueline Coates Blooms Painting Method® Workshop that has trained hundreds of students in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States of America. She is also the creator of the global Make Money from Art Painting and Business Mentoring program.

She and her artwork have been featured in a long list of magazines and newspapers, including Inside Out Magazine, House and Garden Magazine, SA Living, Home Beautiful, Australian Country Style, Voyeur Magazine, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Adelaide Advertiser, and Vogue Magazine.

She has made appearances for TV on SA Postcards and Getaway on Channel Nine.

Jacqueline has represented the brand Estee Lauder with her Blooms paintings and SA Tourism performing live at the Opera House painting.

She has also worked with Yalumba, The Barossa Farmers Markets, Salvation Army Single Mothers Unit, Elliston Primary School, Centrelink, Viva The Flower Store, Willoughby Arts Centre, Metro Arts and Nuriootpa High School.

Recently she has opened her own art studio and accommodation in Limousin, France, and launched French Art School Tours.

Her artwork has also been featured in 22 solo art exhibitions and 40 group exhibitions. However, she is most proud that her paintings reside in private collections all over the world.

Her professional associations include the Heritage Rose Society, the South Australian Rose Society, the Willoughby Arts Centre, and the Ruby Westpac Club.

She has travelled and worked throughout Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Italy, France, Switzerland, Croatia, Monaco, New Zealand, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Hong Kong, and Fiji.
