Cleo Laine John Dankworth 4 cd box I hear music

I have a large collection of works by Laine and Dankworth, but was excited to get this because it chronicles some of their best material from their decades together.

No, it's not a definitive collection as they have released dozens of albums, so this is not for someone looking to get every song in their back catalog. But, it is fun to hear them adapt and evolve musically from the very early 50s into the subsequent decades.


The box itself is well put together and colorful, a nice visual treat. I was pleasantly surprised by the length and amount of text and pics in the bio/booklet inside. I'm not sure if any sort of remastering or editing has been done on the music since I have only listened for a bit since getting it yesterday, but the audio seems good, no issues so far. If you can find a copy relatively cheap I strongly suggest getting it as it's a wonderful selection for any Dankworth/Laine fans, or even for a jazz fan in general.
