Following in the footsteps of Scala, a very successful women's choir in Belgium, EMI was looking for a Dutch version. About thirty girls between fifteen and thirty years old from different backgrounds, styles and interests come together in the singing group Laccorda. The experienced and versatile pianist Cor Bakker was recruited to accompany the choir, best known as a permanent accompanist in Paul de Leeuw's television programs and also of his own television programs, the Cor & Co Show and Cor Achter De Dijken. The much sought-after musician has played with Louis van Dijk, Karin Bloemen, Jenny Arean and Mathilde Santing, among others. He accompanies Laccorda with great pleasure and enthusiasm, which often sings polyphonic arrangements of well-known pop and rock songs from Dutch soil; from Anouk, Frank Boeijen, Ramses Shaffy, Paul de Leeuw, Abel, Twarres, Krezip, Bløf, Racoon, Di-Rect and Within Temptation. The original songs sound very different in this interpretation with clean female voices and piano accompaniment. Refreshing.
