Na zijn overstap naar Warner bracht Oldfield het vervolg uit op zijn eerste album, dat Virgin had geweigerd. Tubular Bells II (1992) volgde nauwgezet de structuur van het eerste album, maar behandelde andere thema's en muzikale invloeden. Dit werd gevolgd door The Songs of Distant Earth (1994), gebaseerd op een roman van Arthur C. Clarke, het Keltisch-folkloristische Voyager en Tubular Bells III, dat invloeden opnam uit de techno- en dansmuziek van zijn toenmalige thuisbasis Ibiza. in 1999 bracht Mike Oldfield het album Guitars uit, waarop alle geluiden werden geproduceerd met behulp van gitaren.

In mei 2003, ter gelegenheid van zijn 50e verjaardag en de 30e verjaardag van de release van Tubular Bells, bracht hij Tubular Bells 2003 uit, een heropname van zijn debuutwerk. Oldfield legde uit dat hij daarmee veel van de onvolkomenheden van het origineel kon verbeteren, die te wijten waren aan de opnametechnologieën van die tijd en de tijdsdruk voor studio-opnamen (kant 1 van de megaplaat moest in 1973 in slechts één week worden opgenomen).
