The historic live performance of “Purple Rain,” the first time Prince & The Revolution performed the classic song “Purple Rain” live, is now available for the first time in a collector's edition featuring rare rehearsal and live footage from the concert. The benefit concert held on August 3, 1983 at “First Avenue” in his hometown of Minneapolis was the very concert that inspired the movie “Purple Rain” and was the first time Wendy joined the band as a guitarist. This is not only a soundcheck jam session, but also a dress rehearsal following the actual order of the concert songs, recorded in stereo soundboard with even higher quality than the full concert.
