ALLMUSIC (4 STARS) Freddy Fresh's killer fusion of electro and breakbeat funk dovetailed nicely with the big-beat fad of 1998-99, giving his third album The Last True Family Man a perfect springboard. The album lives up t o the hype as well, with plenty of irresistible big-beat party tunes like "Badder Badder Schwing" (a Fatboy Slim collaboration) and "It's About the Groove." The title, a pointer to his domestic bliss, spotlights the differences between Fresh and most big-beat producers; there are quite a few laid-back tracks and interludes, much more inventive than run-of-the-mill sample madness but lacking much of their frenzy as well.
