Messiah, an oratorio, ook a new sacred oratorio (hwv 56), is een oratorium van georg friedrich händel, gecomponeerd in 1741. Het werk, dat in de meeste gevallen iets minder dan tweeënhalf uur duurt, wordt, met name in de angelsaksische landen, vooral rond de kerst uitgevoerd, maar ook wel in de paastijd.
