"In order to make progress and improve our daily lives it is very important for us to expand our scientific knowledge. Young people are needed to perform research to gain this knowledge.

Space flight offers a great opportunity to combine fascinating science with an element of adventure. This stimulating DVD has been produced to inspire young people and show them how exciting science and technology can be, combining demonstrations of many physiological effects, both in the weightlessness of space and on Earth.

It was a great pleasure to perform these educational demonstrations with Gennadi Padalka on board the International Space Station. We were also delighted to see students across Europe performing their own equally challenging and unique experiments.

The results of our efforts have been brought together in this very interesting and comprehensive teaching tool, and I hope it will motivate young viewers to start their own adventures in the exciting fields of science and technology."
