Live 8 at Eden Africa Calling (Nieuw)

On Saturday 2 July 2005 ten concerts took place around the world as part of Live 8 in support of the campaign to Make Poverty History.

One of these concerts was Africa Calling, held at the Eden Project in Cornwall, South West England. Produced in association with WOMAD the day featured an exclusive line up of some of Africa's finest artists, performing in the spectacular setting of Eden.

The Eden Project was established as one of the landmark Millennium projects in the UK to mark the year 2000 and is structured as an educational charitable trust.

Africa Calling attracted the cream of African singers and dancers. Artists who appeared on stage at the Eden Project included Youssou N'Dour, Dido, Kanda Bongo Man, Thomas Mapfumo and Angelique Kidjo.

The event was hosted by Peter Gabriel and this DVD also features the full length address given by Nelson Mandela on the day.
