Having seen them 20 times with fred from 1975 onwards, i can say they always blew the place apart but this night was so special. Fred was simply on fire. At one point he had a fight with the monitors – really funny – during sheer heart attack. Completely excessive and wonderful. Fragments of memories remain: punishingly loud echoplexed guitars, ricocheting off the back wall of the odeon behind me, round and round the venue. Brian playing three blind mice.
