Kruder & Dorfmeister - The K&d Sessions (25th Anniversary Boxset Edition)
In the late ’90s, Viennese duo Kruder & Dorfmeister were gaining momentum across Europe, fueled by their 1993 debut EP, G-Stoned. After a Munich gig, a frustrated student reporter questioned their packed shows despite only one release, unaware of their acclaimed remixes for artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Depeche Mode, and David Holmes. On the way home, Peter Kruder suggested compiling their remixes to showcase their work, a spark that led to The K&D Sessions.
The K&D Sessions expanded the duo’s cult following and captured the late ‘90s zeitgeist, sharing the brooding intensity of releases like Massive Attack’s Mezzanine and Boards of Canada’s Music Has the Right to Children. Heavier and darker than G-Stoned, it remains a masterwork of dubby downtempo, embodying the spirit of its era.
