The recordings were captured during Evans' final performances at the Keystone Korner in San Francisco between August 31 and September 7, 1980. The album features Evans alongside bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joe LaBarbera, forming a trio that delivered deeply expressive interpretations of jazz standards and original compositions.
