This adapter supports SFF-8482 SAS hard disks, SFF-8639 U.2 disks are not supported.
With the appropriate SAS adapter/controller, SAS drives can also be used in PCs and certain SATA-form-factor docking stations/backplanes, which can be useful when SAS drives are available at a good price.
Only the SATA-to-SAS hard drive adapter shown in the first two photos is for sale in this ad.
The remaining pictures demonstrate a workaround for using a SAS disk in a SATA docking station, or you can connect a SAS disk to a motherboard using a SATA port. SAS drives are sometimes available cheaper on Amazon Resale than SATA drives, and with a bit of luck, you might even get an unused disk.
