It uses a PCI Express 2.0 x8 interface and provides four external Mini-SAS (SFF-8088) connectors, each carrying four SAS lanes, enabling up to 16 external device connections. The controller operates at 6 Gb/s per port and supports both SAS and SATA drives, as well as SSDs and tape devices, making it flexible for mixed storage environments.
