Selling this MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super. Mechanically and aesthetically in great condition, but it has a specific hardware issue under heavy 3D load.
What was done & tested:
Thermal paste replaced: Fresh high-quality thermal paste has been applied.
Low-load stability: In MSI Kombustor and light tests, the GPU core stays perfectly cool at 68°C and passes VRAM testing with zero errors.
The issue: When entering heavy 3D loads (like Black Myth: Wukong or OCCT 3D test) at 100% power, the monitors lose signal (Black Screen) and fans ramp up to 100%.
Diagnosis:
The GPU core and VRAM chips are healthy, but the card likely has a Hot Spot issue caused by hardened/old thermal pads that prevent perfect radiator pressure, or a minor VRM power delivery fault.
When working properly, this card's raw performance goes head-to-head with an RTX 4060. If you have the time to change the thermal pads or check the PCB components, this is an amazing project card with high profit potential.
