Condition and information:
After the long lasting success of the Parker 75, which was surprisingly still Parker best selling pen in the 70s and 80s, Parker needed a new pen in the early 90s. Parker commissioned Hollington Associates from London with chief designer Geoff Hollington to design new lines of pens. Those included the Insignia and the Sonnet line. The new line was marketed as a precision-crafted, high-performance writing instrument based on an ergonomic design. The Sonnet line included many astonishing designs and finishes. This pen here was made in a "Lacquer Moonbeam" thick lacquer finish. The lacquer shines, the "Moonbeam" black-grey pattern changes color depending on the what type of light its exposed, simply amazing look.
The pen is very heavy, made entirely out of steel, it is very well balanced and feels great while writing. The pen form factor is a the classic, cigar shipped, simple yet powerful. It has a distinct click sound when closing the cap, posting it its very easy as well, giving the pen the full length and balance it needs. The nib is rare solid 18K gold, and surprisingly very flexible, it will write bigger sizes with ease on the down strokes.
Very gentle on the paper and smooth, fine to medium size. An amazing and rare Parker pen, worth any attention. It is in mint condition with no signs of use. Comes with original Parker piston converter, but it can be used with standard cartridges.
