E. leuconeura 'Madagascar jewel' is an upright and mostly unbranched shrub. It is exclusively native to northern Madagascar, hence its name. In nature, it reaches up to two metres tall.The trunk of this shrub goes woody quickly, is quite angular and often twisted in on itself, making it particularly interesting to look at. The trunk is also where this plant stores water. Even if the Madagascar jewel is old, dries out, or suffers any injuries, the trunk is still able to put out new branches. Madagascar jewel leaves are large, growing up to 15 cm in length. These tongue-shaped, leathery leaves grow from the top of the trunk. When young, they have a noticeable white veining.

You will get 1x healthy, rooted cutting with an angular trunk (2-3cm tall; exactly the same to the pictures)

– Plants/leaves will be sent with a minimum of soil and without pot, wrapped with care
– Won't ship, in case of a heatwave/temperatures close to 0°C in Europe
– Plants will be sent wrapped with care to be isolated from heat/cold using little or reused plastic wrapping. Out of choice, I don't use heatpacks, as they are very contain very polluting compounds once used and thrown away. Thus, if temperatures are about to fall to 1-3°C, I will wait for them to increase before I send your plant.

Contact me via message within 24h of the arrival, with a photo of the plant (as well as the package if it’s damaged) so I can resolve the issue for you as quickly as possible. Please note some plants might not look their best after a long travel, but under great care they will flourish soon again!

» CARE «
– Light: Madagascar Jewel requires abundant, bright, indirect light and a few hours of direct sun each day (so its leaves are not burned)
– Watering: Madagascar Jewel thrives in dry soil and should be watered sparingly
– Soil: choose a potting soil that drains very well and doesn’t retain too much moisture. A good soil will have lots of perlite or vermiculite for drainage and some organic matter for nutrition
