After a lot of hesitation, I’m selling my Black Technics SL-1200 MK3 set (2 units). These are the Japan-only MK3 models — never originally sold in Europe — and I’ve really enjoyed owning them. They’ve barely been used over the last five years and have just been sitting here, so it’s time for someone else to actually put them to work.

Import costs for these are around €330 so it's impossible to find these Japanese models (in this condition) in Europe for under the €1500, and that's without a voltage conversion. I specifically wanted the original Japanese domestic MK3 version. You almost never see these in Europe, especially not as a clean, matching pair.

220–240V conversion (professionally done)
The original MK3 runs on 100V. I didn’t want to deal with external step-down transformers, so I spent $160 USD to have them converted internally by a Japanese technician. As a result, they plug straight into any European 220–240V outlet. No boxes, no hum, no risk.

All-in I have 1830 EUR invested into these Turntables, so I'd like to sell them at a fair reflection of that.

MK3 vs MK2 (why this set is special)
Everyone knows the SL-1210 MK2 — that’s the European standard.
The MK3 is the Japanese domestic version, which is far harder to find here. Many collectors and original Technics fans prefer the Japanese versions because they feel closer to the original factory spec. And unlike most Japanese imports, you don’t need a transformer because this set has already been professionally converted for EU voltage.

Why I’m selling
Simply because I never use them anymore. They deserve someone who will actually play on them instead of once every few months.
