Marinair T-442 trafos

These strips are equal in ( build ) quality and very close sound-wise to NEVE 1073 etc.

Absolutely dropdead / jawdropping superb mic preamps, very fat, organic and lovely!

The equalizers are also magnificent! and in no way “less” then the mentioned NEVE modules, amazement and happiness guaranteed!!

SO…. For less then half the price of one NEVE module you have two modules which will do the same job, no looking back!

Just to clarify, i'm not just saying things, i actually compared them to several vintage Neve strips.

Be aware, there are a few different incarnations of these units, they all sound very good, but the one with the Marinair trafo’s do outshine the other versions.

Discrete ( and some later ones not totally discrete but equally great ) 3 band nice pre-eq. Lo-hi pass filters. Stepped, hi end attenuators. Same identical eq/filter points as 3 band Neve 33114. St. Ives transformers. These were built by Ex-neve employees in the 70's as competition to the Neve 33114. You can't touch this sound quality and versitile EQ at this price!

Heres a cute little Audix... MAssive Attack used to have one in thier studios when they were doing 'Mezanine' .. fromthe pics i remember in SOS its was the same sort.
The ones to look for are the 35102 modules. Their 1:1 rippoff of the NEVE 33114 pre/eq module.


I have a couple of Audix modules, racked up and recapped by Tom Hilbe. These sound great and are exactly the same as Neve 1073's in design. The story I was told when I looked into these was that workers from Neve left that company and formed Audix, makig products using the same basic design as Neve.
