I removed the chrome on the outside, gave it a coat of anti-rust primer and wrapped it with a home made wrap, that looks like wood in a strange colorful way. The wrap is made using the technique frottage.
The hardware is made from beech wood (and some steel for crucial parts like inserts); it is hand cut and hand carved, and it is finished with gold-leaf and brass colored guilding wax.
