This sure looks like the pretty rare 1950's Gibson Les Paul GA40 amp and from the outside, it is....
On the inside however the amp was completely overhauled (by probably the "Ampman", Leiden) and now it is a great sounding Fender based amp with tremolo!
It runs on 230V EU power and was built using 2 x 6L6GC power tubes and 3 x 12AX7, an original 1953 Jensen P12Q Alnico speaker, original 1953 GA-30C choke, a 1969 Fender Vibrolux/Tremolux Output Transformer 022848 606-9-15, 1965 TF 77PF 5246520 230V Triwec Power Transformer and many vintage parts. The cabinet, chassis, most pots, inputs, some capacitors and resistors, grillcloth, LP logo gril, Dakaware chickenhead knobs and footswitch are all original 1953 Gibson!
So if you are an avid amp collector looking for an original Gibson GA40 Les Paul Amp, please move along... If you are a player looking for a super cool looking amp that sounds really open, warm, with bell tone clears and a lovely tremolo: this might just be the one for you!
