Introduced in 2007, the AD30VT XL is part of the AD Valvetronix XL Series of amplifiers. It features a 10" speaker in a closed-back, pressed board cabinet powered by a 30-watt, 12AX7 tube/solid-state hybrid Valvetronix amplifier circuit. The control panel includes eleven amp models, eleven pedal effects, and a two-channel digital programmer. Derived from the Valvetronix AD series introduced in 2004, the XL series amps were reconfigured to feature more aggressive, high-gain heavy metal guitar voicings.

The eleven "Amp Models" on the AD30VT XL control panel are: "Glass," "Funked," "Buzzsaw," "Crunched," "Thrashed," "Raged," "Modern," "Fluid," "Molten," "Black," and "Damaged." The "Effects" section is identical to the standard AD30VT version. An optional VFS2 floor pedal allows for remote control of stored tonal programs.

The AD30VT XL, though compact, is loud enough for small performance venues. It includes a power amp level control to adjust the output wattage from zero to thirty watts.
