This is a very nice example of the late '50s BIG-BOX Princeton, which by this point had grown into a much larger cabinet than the earlier models. You could change the baffle board for an 1x10" or even an 1x12" speaker baffle! These come up for sale very rarely.

The amp is pretty similar to the late 50's Fender Champ but it has an additional Tone control plus it is in the bigger cabinet so you can imagine how this sounds! Books have written about these little Fender Tweed amps! (Gen Z: A book is a bunch of web pages, printed, glued and seemed together on one side and covered on the outside to keep them from accidental folding...)

You can use it at home, in the studio or on stage with a mic in front, this babe sounds damn cool any which way. The perfectly dry pine wood cabinet is light and super acoustic, which makes the amp sound sweet and open, it has a very woody tone.

It is mostly original as well with the original 110Volt Triad 66079 power transformer, original pots (304813 (week 13, 1958)), electronics, cabinet, chassis, knobs, tweed and grillcloth. The Schumacher EIA606 EIA606-122 022905 output transformer seems from 1961 and we think it was send back to the Fender Factory in 1961 to have it replaced as the mountingscrews, solder and wire point in that direction. The original handle is replaced for an aged repro leather handle, several capacitors and electrolytes have been replaced and the power cord is replaced for a new grounded one (original in the sale). The "HF" date stamp on the inside of the chassis and on the tube chart indicates assembly in June 1958. This amp still features the original 8" 8EV-29 speaker 465-749 (week 49, 1957) and 3 tube layout (5Y3GT, 6V6GT, 12AX7) in the more spacious cabinet making for a sweetly overdriven airier tone that can get very raucous when pushed. The tweed shows some cool wear all around and it has all the mojo you are looking for.
