Ⰶ LOUIS XIV (1643-1715) of FRANCE, NAVARRE AND ANDORRA: FRANCE ★ LIARD 1656G POITIERS (1655-1657) UNCOMMON!
Interesting coin of French state coinage in collectible condition. It was minted by Louis XIV the King of France, King of Navarre and Prince of Andorra by essentially less common Poitiers mint. The obverse shows title of the ruler •L• XIIII• ROY• DE• FR• ET• DE• NA• 1656•. On the reverse the mint mark B (for Poitiers) is surrounded by fleurs-de-lis at the end of denomination in four line legend [•LIARD•]•DE••FRANCE•G. Due to small mintage (just 118300 pcs) the coin is rare. It was Louis XIV, who was believed to say "I am the state". The Sun King ruled His State during 72 years and 110 days, which became the longest in the history of Europe.
