First manufactured by Breitling in 2010 under the "SuperOcean II" designation, the A17391 represents a top-notch example of Breitling interpreting its lineage for modern wrists. This is a competent tool watch with a distinctive Breitling flare thanks to its large 44mm steel construction and a professional-grade, 2000m (!) dive rating. A super-grippy bold unidirectional diving bezel tops the case, with the insert opting for italicized numerals. This funky, almost quirky style is continued through its bold dial, which opts for high legibility - a must-have for any diving watch, let alone one capable of sinking multiple thousands of meters below sea level. Large, italicized Arabic numerals can be found at six and nine, with complementary lume filled indices at most remaining positions. That is, of course, except for the three o'clock position where a small, the date window adds some day-to-day functionality to the professional wearer, while a railroad outer minute track on the thin rehaut adds additional dimensionality and visual intrigue to the diver aesthetic. A Breitling caliber 17 powers the watch's tapered handset and white arrow-pointer seconds counter. The automatic mechanism is based on ETA 2824-2 and shares its renowned reliability.
