Bjorn Weckstrom is a Finnish artist, sculptor and jeweler. His sculpture works heavily influenced his jewelry creating monumental brutalist works. This Flowering Wall Necklace (Kukkiva Muuri) won the Rio De Janeiro International Jewelry Contest Grand Prix in 1965 which brought Lapponia the international recognition it needed. It was said that Bjorn was ahead of his time, which is fitting considering he went on to design jewelry for science fiction media, including Star Wars.
