Volume 1: Rustin Parr
In 1941, research scientist Elspeth "Doc" Holliday is dispatched to the town of Burkittsville by the Spookhouse, a classified government agency charged with investigating paranormal occurrences. When given the assignment to look into the legend of the Blair Witch, she is partnered with the Stranger, but decides to go on her own as the Stranger is skeptical of the witch's existence. Holliday learns about Rustin Parr, a hermit who abducted eight children from Burkittsville and, apparently without motive, murdered all but one in his basement. The player must guide Holliday through her investigations, to see if there is any truth to Parr's claims that he was under the influence of otherworldly forces when he committed the murders.

Volume 2: The legend of Coffin Rock
During the American Civil War, a dying Union soldier with amnesia is rescued by some villagers. In return, he agrees to help them find their missing children and goes to the haunted Burkittsville forest in this survival horror action adventure. Armed with sword and pistol, you make your way through the supernatural woods, hoping to find some answers.

Volume 3: The Elly Kedward Tale
In 1785, Jonathan Prye, a former priest who left the clergy during a crisis of faith, and now a witch-hunter, is called to the Blair Township (later renamed Burkittsville) to investigate events related to the disappearance of a woman called Elly Kedward a few weeks earlier.
