Exceptionally Rare Beetle Feeding on Tree Resin – Kachin Amber Specimen
This beautifully preserved and extraordinarily rare beetle specimen is encased in high-clarity Cretaceous amber from Kachin State, Myanmar. Remarkably, the beetle appears to be caught in the act of feeding on tree resin, a behavior almost never documented in the fossil record.
Detailed imaging has been carried out using both a 105mm macro lens and high-resolution microscopy, capturing the specimen from multiple angles and perspectives. These images provide an in-depth look at this likely undescribed species and offer valuable insights into its morphology and behavior.
