The Mourner is a one-of-a-kind altered porcelain doll, transformed by hand into a piece of dark decorative art.
Her aged and cracked appearance, hollow dark eyes and distressed clothing give her the feeling of something that has been sitting undisturbed for far too long.
Every detail has been altered and finished by hand. Marks, irregularities and signs of wear are intentional parts of her appearance and contribute to the aged, imperfect character of the piece.
