About 28 cm tall, made from zelkova wood. From Gunma Prefecture, Japan, around the 1980s. Stamped by Usaburo.
This is a top-quality Usaburo kokeshi, known for its beautiful wood grain and detailed craftsmanship.
The hair is carefully carved, and the leaves and kimono patterns are hand-burned.
The varnish brings out the natural warmth and beauty of the wood.
