For sale is this beautiful graphic screenprint called Vltraictus by (post)graffiti artist Felipe Pantone. Bought in 2013 at Galerie Celal in Paris at one of the first group shows of the infamous UB crew, alongside his friends Demski and Sozy One Gonzales (see last picture). From a hand signed and numbered two layer screen print, a small edition of only 50 pieces in the colors blue and “gloss” which creates a sense of depth in this mesmerizing image.
Felipe Pantone is an Argentinian-Spanish artist. He started doing graffiti at the age of 12. He graduated with a Fine Art degree in Valencia (Spain) where his studio is based. Pantone's work deals with dynamism, transformation, digital revolution, and themes related to the present times.
For Pantone, his art is a meditation on the ways we consume visual information. Drawing inspiration from kinetic artist like Victor Vasarely and Carlos Cruz-Diez (who both worked with movement) his contemporary work often produces the sensation of vibration as the viewer’s position changes in relation to the work. Pantone works on various software and then is translated into murals, paintings, and sculptures which give tactile merit to what is occurring in the digital world.
This screenprint was sold out long ago, so grab this chance to obtain a very early and special work by this groundbreaking artist; Felipe Pantone, who went on to become one of the scene’s biggest names, exhibiting his work at Beyond the Streets in London, New York and Los Angeles.
The print is in good condition, with only a few scuffmarks (tapemarks) on the backside of the screenprint from removing the print from its frame. Hardly noticeable and invisible from the frontside.
