Director Milos Forman's rewarding 1984 film adaptation of playwright Peter Shaffer's Tony-winning play won no fewer than 10 Academy Awards (including Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Director); only Wolfgang himself (and his filmic counterpart, Tom Hulce) seemed to get overlooked by the Academy.


Every piece played in this soundtrack, I must say, is superb. I love to play this soundtrack over and over again. My favorite is Don Giovanni. Beautiful voice and the music somewhat sends chills up my spine. I love it! I would recommend anyone who has not seen or heard of AMADEUS to watch the movie and listen to the music. Since then, I have been listening to mostly classical music by other composers. I found myself having temporarily stepped away from rock, R&B, easy listening, etc.
