Laurent;s trademark style (moody, somber synths) can be felt throughout, but it;s a significant departure from his work with french pop myth mylène farmer, as half the songs are written by nathalie, with emphasis on guitar. Strong focus on the woman as a sensual, strong-willed individual.


Highlights include ;hasta siempre,; a boutonnat-styled remake of the original cuban ode to che guevara by carlos puebla



Stories, love letter to serge gainsbourg; the almost acoustic ;libre,; a poignant supplication to a higher power (perhaps god, perhaps a lover) in a time of crisis; and les hommes de ma vie,; possibly one of the most restrained--and emotion-laden--songs that laurent has ever composed. If you;re a boutonnat fan, the album proves a pleasant break from the somewhat overwhelming mylène persona; it;s an honest work. A shame nathalie never released anything anymore.
