Er zijn zeldzame tracks die alleen Bear Family op konden sporen. Hier beleef je Buck en de band met de legendarische producer Ken Nelson. Voordat Buck Owens in 2006 stierf, wenste hij dat zijn hele werk door Bear Family zou worden gedocumenteerd zoals zij dat kunnen.

Deze collectie presenteert het allerbeste van Bakersfield-Country Music: zo kwam alles in kaart , plaat voor plaat, sessie voor sessie! Deze tweede editie van de complete Buck Owens bevat op 7 cd's alle Owens-studio-opnames van maart 1965 tot december 1968 voor Capitol. Hier had hij zijn meest succesvolle tijd toen bijna elk van zijn singles belanden op de eerste plaats van de countrygrafieken.

Tot de hits behoren klassiekers zoals Only You Can Break My Heart, Buckaroo, Waitin' In Your Welfare Line, Open Up Your Heart, Where Does The Good Times Go, Sam's Place, It Takes People like You en vele anderen. Inbegrepen zijn ook complete LP's zoals I've Got You On My Mind Again, 'Before You Go / No One But You,"Open Up Your Heart' en 'Your Tender Loving Care' en de LP's van Buckaroos met de topmuzikanten Doyle Holly, Don Rich en Tom Brumley.

Buck Owens hield zich bewust weg van het Nashville-pop-country-geluid, hij bleef bij onvervalste eerlijke country muziek en hoefde zich daarvoor ook niet te rechtvaardigen. Zijn gedenkwaardige, gemakkelijk te herkennen liedjes werden omlijst door Don Rich's zangharmonia en zijn aangrijpende Telecaster-geluid en Tom Brumley's frisse, levendige steelgitaar. De box bevat bovendien alternatieve tracks en alle nummers die nog te vinden waren.

De country-music-historicus Rich Kienzle presenteert in het begeleidende boek open en gedetailleerd Buck Owens' carrière, gebaseerd op vele eigen interviews met deze geweldige artiest en met zijn medespelers en zakenpartners.
