License To Kill is the second studio album by the American heavy metal band Malice, released in 1987 through Atlantic Records. Following their 1985 debut In the Beginning..., this album continued the band’s blend of powerful, melodic metal in the style of early Judas Priest and Dio-era Black Sabbath.The record showcases James Neal’s soaring vocals, Jay Reynolds’ intricate and aggressive guitar work (before his brief stint with Megadeth), and a heightened sense of production compared to their debut. Musically, it combines traditional heavy metal elements with a slicker, more commercial sound typical of late-1980s metal, featuring anthemic choruses, harmonized guitars, and polished arrangements.License To Kill includes the title track, a standout single accompanied by a music video that received MTV airplay at the time, along with other cuts that emphasize the band’s technical musicianship and dramatic flair.
