    Helen Maxine Reddy

    Australian-American singer and actress born on 25 October 1941 in Melbourne, Australia; died 29 September 2020 in Los Angeles, USA. Reddy moved to the USA in 1966 after winning a talent contest on Australian Bandstand and found success in 1971 under management with Jeff Wald, her former husband from 1968 to 1983. She was naturalized in December 1974 as an American citizen.
    Acted in the movies Airport 75, Pete's Dragon and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
    By 2001 Reddy wanted to start working in the help professions. She retired from live performance in 2002, returned to live in Australia and got a degree in clinical hypnotherapy and neuro-linguistic programming. She also became a motivational speaker. In 2011, after singing Breezin' Along With The Breeze with her half-sister Toni Lamond, for Toni's birthday, she returned to live performing. albeit on a few occasions only. Around 2015 she returned to live in Los Angeles, where she would die aged 78.

    Reddy published her autobiography in 2006, titled The Woman I Am (A Memoir), In 2019 an Australian biopic about her was released titled I Am Woman (dir. Unjoo Moon) in which Reddy was played by Chelsea Cullen. The accompanying soundtrack (rel. 2020-08-21) was sung by Cullen but also features one song by Reddy's granddaughter Lily Donat.

    Dusty Springfield

    Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien

    Born: April 16, 1939 in Hampstead, London, UK, died: March 02, 1999 in Henley, Oxfordshire, UK.
    Influential British singer who began her career with The Lana Sisters, later The Springfields in the early 60's before going solo.

    She achieved a long string of successful albums and singles through most of the 1960's, as well as having several variety series on BBC and ITV networks in the UK which she headlined during those years.

    Her chart successes slowed in the 1970s, but she achieved a renaissance in the 1980's with the help of the Pet Shop Boys, with whom she recorded two hit records, including her hit duet with PSB, "What Have I Done To Deserve This?"

    She was diagnosed with cancer after the recording of her final album, "A Very Fine Love". After treatment the cancer was briefly in remission, but eventually returned, and she died in March 1999, a few days after she had been awarded the Order of the British Empire. Later that same year, she was inducted as a performer into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

    Marti Webb

    British actress and singer, born 13 December 1943 in Cricklewood, London, England, who has spent most of her career in musical theatre.
    She appeared in the original London productions of Stop The World, I Want to Get Off, Half A Sixpence, Godspell, The Card and Song & Dance, as well as starring in Evita, Cats, The Goodbye Girl, Annie, The King and I, Oklahoma and 42nd Street.

    Her biggest hit was 'Take That Look Off Your Face' from the song cycle 'Tell Me On A Sunday' which was written for her by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black.
