Elena holeczyova : slovakian lace designer [slovak language w/many plates] 1973. A showcase of the magnificent work of the slovakian lace designer, elena holéczyová (1906-1983). A graduate of the school of fine arts in prague (1926), she became the driving force behind the"art lace" movement in slovakia. This hardcover book includes many photographs of her wonderful contemporary lace works, many of them in color. There is also an introduction and a bibliography and lists of solo exhibitions and others in which she participated. Unfortunately none of this is in english; the text is in the slovak language. Still, it is visually arresting with wonderful detail. A must-have book for those who love contemporary lace. They will find every page a joy and an inspiration. This is not a pattern book and there are no instructions included for creating the items shown in the images.
