What if Ibanez still produced the John Petrucci (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment) JPM model? With that train of thought I had a former Ibanez master luthier who does various builds for me, build me a JPM P1 but with up2date specs:


Body Wood: Basswood
Bridge: Ibanez tremolo Lo-Pro Edge in black
Fingerboard: Rosewood w/ binding
Fingerboard inlays: Offset dot
Frets: 24 / jumbo stainless steel
Neck Wood: flamed maple. Dimensions are close to the current Ernie Ball Music Man JP15 neck
Pickups: Bridge - DiMarzio Illuminator F-Spaced (DP257FBK), Neck - DiMarzio Illuminator (DP256BK)
Controls: Volume - DiMarzio 500K custom taper potentiometer (EP1201), Tone - 500K push/pull potentiometer (EP1201PP), 022µF tone capacitor, DiMarzio Strat Volume/Tone knobs (DM2111BK)
Strings: 10-13-17-26-36-46 (Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalt #3721), tuned in D
Switching: Ernie Ball Music Man 3-way toggle pickup selector for John Petrucci Guitar (JP3W), with custom center position push/pull configuration
Tuning Machines: Gotoh Black
No case


Can be tested live in Aalsmeer over a Fractal Audio FM3 / Laney FRFR live setup upon appointment.

This is a brand new guitar that's on par with the higher end Ibanez Prestige models of today. This is a great alternative for John Petrucci enthousiasts who missed out on the original Ibanez JPM models back in the 90's and who do not want to pay over EUR5k to purchase a used original.
