In the eighties, singer / songwriter Joey Tempest was the face and lead singer of the very successful Swedish hard rock formation Europe in those years. In 1992 he left the group for a solo career, which should take shape with this album. Anyone who would expect that he continues the musical line of Europe with A Place To Call Home will be disappointed. This album, mostly recorded with Swedish musicians, mainly contains rather tame pop songs, although it is not said that they are of poor quality. Some songs, including the beautiful, heavily orchestrated ballad Elsewhere, certainly have hit potential.
