The TCMF8-602DM is one of our latest controllers, designed for precise management of AC fan speed in HVAC systems with single phase motors. This robust device has a maximum motor current of 6A per motor output (2 x 6A), ensuring optimum efficiency for your HVAC configuration. The TCMF8-602DM automatically sets the fan speed based on real-time measurements from up to 4 connected HVAC sensors via the RJ45 connection and supports Power over Modbus. Additional sensors can be added using additional power supplies.
The 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs provide the tools to customize to your unique requirements. You can easily download application specific firmware via HVACWeb, your dedicated HVAC Cloud platform. The TCMF8-602DM integrates seamlessly with an optional HVAC Gateway, providing a seamless connection to HVACWeb. You can choose between standalone operation or continuous connection to the Cloud platform after downloading the firmware.
The TCMF8-602DM has a set of diverse functionalities by offering a selection of firmware versions, for different HVAC applications such as destratification and demand-driven fan speed control. Once you have selected the functionality on our solutions page, you can easily download the corresponding firmware from SenteraWeb.
No programming knowledge is required for this user-friendly controller, but if necessary settings can be made via Modbus Holding registers.
Application-specific firmware
TCMF8 controllers require application-specific firmware. They usually control fan speed based on input from connected sensors or potentiometers. Application-specific firmware can be downloaded via HVACWeb - your personal HVAC Cloud platform. This controller does not have an integrated internet gateway. An external internet gateway is required to connect to SenteraWeb and download application-specific firmware. Once the firmware is downloaded, the TCMF8 controller can operate stand-alone or remain connected to HVACWeb.
Controlling AC Fans
An AC fan is a fan that is powered by alternating current. It plays a crucial role in air circulation within heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. AC fans are often used in various cooling applications to remove heat from electronic components or to improve air circulation in buildings. The TCMF8 is intended for the control of AC fans and offers specific solutions depending on the customer's needs.
Various functionalities
We offer a limited number of specific firmware versions for typical HVAC applications (e.g. destratification, demand-based fan speed control, etc.). First select the desired functionality via the solutions page on our website and then download the application-specific firmware. If necessary, it is possible to adjust some settings via the Modbus Holding registers. No programming required!
Two outputs to control fan speed
This controller has two outputs to control AC fans with single phase motor. The maximum combined current is 6 A per output. The fan speed is controlled by reducing the motor voltage via phase angle control / TRIAC technology. This means that this speed controller is only suitable for voltage controllable motors. If you are not sure whether your motor is voltage controllable, it is best to contact the motor manufacturer. This speed controller works completely silently. Thanks to the precise motor control, the humming motor noise at low speed is limited.
Thermal motor protection
When an AC motor fails, it is often due to overheating. In order to detect motor overheating in time, some motors are equipped with TK or thermal contacts. These thermal contacts measure the temperature in the motor windings. TCMF8 fan speed controllers can monitor two thermal motor contacts. In case of motor overheating, the TK monitoring function will switch off the motor to prevent permanent motor damage. The TK of the motor can be connected to the TK and 24 VDC terminals.
Connecting sensors or potentiometers
External HVAC sensors or potentiometers can be connected via Modbus RTU communication or via the analog inputs. To simplify wiring of the external devices, 24 Volt power is available via the RJ45 connector. The 24 Volt power and Modbus communication can be distributed via one cable - we call this Power over Modbus or PoM. All settings can be adjusted via the Modbus Holding registers.
Rugged housing
The housing of the TCMF8 is designed for indoor use and can be installed on a wall or panel. It is important that the location where the controller is installed provides sufficient cooling to prevent overheating. This ensures optimum operating conditions and extends the life of the controller.
The housing of the TCMF8 is made of high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic and is also produced in our own factory. The type of plastic used is known for its flame retardant properties, toughness and shock resistance. The housing has an IP54 protection degree.
